And all through my school,
Grade 12's were proposing,
Well, it was promposals they'll do.
The hallways were filled with the smell of cut flowers,
And hand writen poems,
that took hours and hours.
Everyone was wondering who would be asked,
And what kind of fantastic ideas had passed.
Will they say yes, will they say no,
And if they arn't asked,
Will they even go?
The main point of this poem,
And promposals as well,
Is to ask out that girl,
The one who makes you feel swell.
And if you don't know just who to ask,
Courtney Chisholm is waiting,
Still waiting,
So..ask! :)
Oh hay guys...
I hope you liked my poem, I wrote it while sitting in Writer's Craft.
:)
Okay, so today I thought I would write about promposals. What is a promposal you ask? Well it is essentially a “prom – proposal”…hence promposal. It is when Grade 12 students, more so boys, ask girls to prom. It is a cute thing…
But it seems that as years pass, “promposing” has become somewhat of a competition, it being…who has the best promposal idea! This year I have witnessed many promposals…and I have to say that there is some stiff competition walking around the halls of my high school.
I have seen a wide range of different methods, from cute handwritten poems to public announcements in the cafeteria, with flowers nonetheless. I think what is key is making your promposal “you” and of course, having your own idea.
The idea of promposals originated from the hit MTV show Laguna Beach, and since then has become somewhat of an epidemic. And, I thought that I would post some cute ideas to help with all your promposal troubles.
1) Burn a CD with cute songs on it and write “WILL YOU GO TO PROM?” on the front of the disk.
3) Take a picture of you holding a sign saying “Prom?” and then post it on the lucky girl’s locker.
4) Stand outside their window with a “boom box” and play "Jesse Buy Nothing" by Hellogoodbye, which is just them screaming about why you should go to prom.
5) The chalk “PROM?” on the driveway thing…classic, and cute. (I love this one)
6) Cut out a snowflake and write “your one of a kind…prom?” on it. :)
8) Spell out “PROM” using M&M’s on a pizza, cake, or some other “food” item.
9) Or something else SUPER FUN AND CREATIVE!
REMEMBER…YOU’RE THE PRIZE!
But anyways, I thought that this would be a cute post, given the fact the Prom is right around the corner...
