My Weekly Addiction: "Madeline's Boutique"

Hey guys. Before I dive right into this new post, I just want to say that if you are a reader, and have something nice that you want me to "review" as my weekly addiction, comment, or email me anytime. I would love the ideas of you readers, and just to know that you guys are reading my blog. So if your parents own a restaurant, or something along those lines, email me, and I will review it for you. Also, spread this blog around. I want this thing to turn out to be HUGE. Okay, pretty big at least. So you guys got to help me out. Thanks again.

I'm going to try to get a couple of good reviews under my belt this weekend, so here is a new one. Now, on to my post. Last time I posted about an amazing blog that I follow. And now I am going another route.

This week’s addiction: Madeline's Boutique, 1841 Avenue Rd, Toronto, ON.

Madeline's, situated on Avenue Road across from a giant LCBO, is a beautiful boutique that sells dresses for all occasions. I know, if you are a Torontonian, then you hear the street Avenue Road and you already know that it will be expensive. I am not going to lie, it is on the pricey side, however, Madeline's carries such a wide variety of dresses that I am sure you can find a more affordable dress within the many racks.

The boutique carries what seems like a hundred dresses in the store alone, and change up their merchandise often. Do not let this small boutique fool you, once inside the small store; you may suffer from a little claustrophobia and at the same time amazement. If you are like me and love shopping, especially for dresses, you will fall in love. I did.

I want to point out that Madeline's carries a lot of the big dress designers such as Sherri Hill, BG Haute, Sherri Seigal and many more.

Madeline & Nick, the owners, are just simply amazing. And of course, their employees are just as great. Although the place is often busy, especially on the weekends, it is worth the wait. Nick can look at you, and with a little guidance from you about what you are looking for, he can pick out a couple dresses that will honestly look fantastic on you. Every body type! Madeline's bubbly personality makes you feel welcome and her accessory guidance is very helpful.

My experience: For prom, I bought my dress here. I have a lot of trouble finding clothing that fit me well, so when it came to getting a prom dress I was sure that it would be a difficult trek. I went to one store that recommended Madeline's to me because of their expansive selection. I walked in to the store and was greeted with a smile and question" what can I get for you?" After a couple minutes I had four beautiful dresses in my hand, which were then hung up on the waiting rack. It was fast and easy. After waiting for a change room, slipping on the dresses, and getting help and advice from the owners, I had found my prom dress. I was in and out in under thirty-minutes, with a prom dress in my hands. They also do altering and can order you something from out of the store. It was honestly the best dress-buying-experience of my life!

I have read reviews that people have left about this boutique and feel that I must mention Nick's personality clashes with some people. Let me put this plainly; he will not deal with your problems. I have seen him with my own eyes ask someone to leave. Madeline's is a very busy, very small store. There is not enough room in there for some lazy girl who does not want to be trying on dresses.

My advice: If you do go there, make sure you are in good spirits, and are open to new ideas. Know what it is you are looking for, and do not fool around.

This wonderful boutique does not have a website, but here is the contact information.

Please make a shout-out in the comment section if you have gone to Madeline's with a little blurb about your experience.

Thanks y'all, xx courtney.

"Big Brother 12 Blog...because you're addicted."

Oh hey again.

First things first, I gave the blog a "new" look. Cute right? Anyways, here I go.

I don't know if you guys have been watching Big Brother, but if you aren't I have two things to say to you: one, don't read this, because there really is not any reason to, and second ARE YOU CRAZY! Watch it, CBS: Sunday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's.

Anyways. If you do watch Big Brother, then HIGH FIVE, and I'm sure you have all heard about the infamous live feeds. Well, if you don't want to spend the money, or you don't want to sit there all day watching, I know of this amazing blog that will KEEP YOU UP TO DATE COMPLETELY!.

This week's Addiction: Big Brother 12 Blog...because you're addicted.

I have followed this blog for three seasons now, and it is honestly amazing. I think that a lot of people think that by "reading ahead" using blogs, you ruin the thrill of nominations and POV winners. Although that is completely true, CBS cannot cram in all the goodness that these blogs have. Drama, Game Talk, Showmances.

My experience: Well, I spend most of the summer without a TV, so three "season's" ago, I started to read this blog, and I fell in love. And now, even with TV, I continue to follow it.

The one I want to point out is Big Brother 12 Blog...because you're addicted.
Here is a link: http://big-brother-12-blog.blogspot.com/

Jamie, the author, is amazing. So do me the favour and follow my blog (the one you are reading) and follow her blog (follow the link). You will love it.

My advice: Follow, Comment, and join the chatroom on this blog. It will change your Big Brother Experience FOREVER!

So thanks guys, thats it from me for now. This is my weekly "addiction". Thanks for reading.
xx, courtney.

The Concert

So I know that is has been forever yet again. But as I have mentioned before it has been CRAZY BUSY in my life. This month is flying by and everyday is filled with things to do. I know that I have said many times that i will make a post about my favourite music, and I just want to say that THIS WILL BE HAPPENING. It's just going to be a long post, and I just have not had the time!

However, in the spirit of music, I WENT TO A CONCERT! I went with my best friends in the whole wide world, and I must shout out to them, so Elena and Kerri, love you guys. Together we make EKC.

Well, on May 4th 2010, EKC saw 3OH!3 and COBRASTARSHIP at the Sound Academy. IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING. We also saw my new boyfriend Travis McCoy. But I (tired to) took some photos and I thought I would post them here, and of course write a little about them.

(I TOOK OVER 100 PICTURES SO LET MY TRY TO FIND SOME THAT ARE ALRIGHT...)
---------------------------------------------------
3OH!3 is one of my favourite bands. They are honestly so jokes, and so much fun to listen to and also to see in concert. It was amazing, and well worth the wait. They played their new song "My First Kiss" which I quite enjoyed. I thought that they performed well, keeping in mind that it was a concert, and about the music.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Cobra Starship on the other hand, had a different "performance" in mind. Nonetheless, I love them as well. There music is also very funny and contagiously addicting. Which in my books is a good thing. Their performance was more about getting really drunk on stage, for it was the drummers Nate's birthday, but still. Cobra Starship lost sight of the music...which unfortunately is one of the side effects of musicians...ironically.
-------------------------------------------------
Anywho. I really wanted you guys to get CRAZY jealous over the fact that I saw them soooo....[get jealous here............keep going...........keep going.........a little more.......okay, you're jealous enough now].

Well, this is the post. I was a lot harder to put these pictures in then I thought. Sometimes I think my life is just extra difficult. Well, I am going to eat some chinese food. Don't y'all agree that Chinese food is better the day after, and cold. :)

Lots of love Courtney!

why do people have to get sick?

so, I have been like crazy sick for the past five days...and it pretty much sucks. I mean besides the fact that I get so lay around the house and do nothing, it really sucks. Especially in my case because the whole "sitting around doing nothing" thing has not happened to me. I have been crazy busy with homework so I have not only been working all day, but for most of the night. Its been a continuous mix of work, sick, being exhausted, more work, and even sicker. Super freaking awesome right? No!

But wait, ranting was not the point of this post, although ranting to you guys, all what? Ten of you?...it is amazing, its not what this is for. What I wanted to tell you is that soon I do intend on posting about my love for music. A particular musician in general :) I kind of love him. Nbd. But this post, is about my new favourite thing!

On...sunday? Yeah sunday I went out and somehow convinced my dad to get me a super cool laptop, which I am not using right now, ironically, it is my baby number like 64. (I am very passionate about my things) but the gem of the purchase was my new touch screen desktop computer. It is actually amazing. It is a Gateway, which is a decent brand, and I mean I love it. It has a 24 inch touch screen, it is one entire piece. And it is amazing. I must have played with it in the store for like two hours. Sadly I have yet to even take it out og the box! I have been THAT busy. It is ridiculous. But ya. I thought I would share my exciting news with you guys. I am currently getting my hair highlighted and cut. I'm kinda freaking out. I love my hair. And I'm not sure why I'm getting it coloured. But for some reason I want to go lighter. I don't know. Well that's it for now. Maybe I'll post again while I am waiting.

Till then , Courtney.

While in Hawaii♥

Oh hay again,

Okay, well I can't think of anything really clever to post about, so until I do, which could be tonight, maybe tomorrow? I am not sure, but I was creeping through my Hawaii photos, and there was one day, a lot like the one that we are facing right now, rainy, windy, cool...which means HUGE waves...where I took pictures of the surfers, and I have some really good ones, so I thought that I could share them with you guys.

In case you didn't know, I was in Hawaii for three weeks this February and it was fantastic...

THEY ARE PRETTY FANTASIC PHOTOS I MIGHT ADD!

So those are my photos of hot hawaiian surfers.. :)
Sorry that was all the "blogging" I could do as of now. I just had ONE OF THOSE DAYS you know?

well, until next time...

Who will you "PROMPOSE" to?

T'was the month before prom time,
And all through my school,
Grade 12's were proposing,
Well, it was promposals they'll do.
The hallways were filled with the smell of cut flowers,
And hand writen poems,
that took hours and hours.
Everyone was wondering who would be asked,
And what kind of fantastic ideas had passed.
Will they say yes, will they say no,
And if they arn't asked,
Will they even go?
The main point of this poem,
And promposals as well,
Is to ask out that girl,
The one who makes you feel swell.
And if you don't know just who to ask,
Courtney Chisholm is waiting,
Still waiting,
So..ask! :)

Oh hay guys...
I hope you liked my poem, I wrote it while sitting in Writer's Craft.
:)
Okay, so today I thought I would write about promposals. What is a promposal you ask? Well it is essentially a “promproposal”…hence promposal. It is when Grade 12 students, more so boys, ask girls to prom. It is a cute thing…

But it seems that as years pass, “promposing” has become somewhat of a competition, it being…who has the best promposal idea! This year I have witnessed many promposals…and I have to say that there is some stiff competition walking around the halls of my high school.

I have seen a wide range of different methods, from cute handwritten poems to public announcements in the cafeteria, with flowers nonetheless. I think what is key is making your promposal “you” and of course, having your own idea.

The idea of promposals originated from the hit MTV show Laguna Beach, and since then has become somewhat of an epidemic. And, I thought that I would post some cute ideas to help with all your promposal troubles.

1) Burn a CD with cute songs on it and write “WILL YOU GO TO PROM?” on the front of the disk.
2) Spell out PROM with candles and rose petals…this one is more romantic.
3) Take a picture of you holding a sign saying “Prom?” and then post it on the lucky girl’s locker.
4) Stand outside their window with a “boom box” and play "Jesse Buy Nothing" by Hellogoodbye, which is just them screaming about why you should go to prom.
5) The chalk “PROM?” on the driveway thing…classic, and cute. (I love this one)
6) Cut out a snowflake and write “your one of a kind…prom?” on it. :)
7) “PROM?” on a fortune in a fortune cookie.
8) Spell out “PROM” using M&M’s on a pizza, cake, or some other “food” item.
9) Or something else SUPER FUN AND CREATIVE!

REMEMBER…YOU’RE THE PRIZE!

But anyways, I thought that this would be a cute post, given the fact the Prom is right around the corner...

I Suffer From Major Procrastination...

Story of my life. Nuff said.

In case you didn’t already know, I am in my last year of…school. Well, anyways, today was my last weekend to finish this huge assignment, worth like 30% of my mark…and I didn’t even start it! It’s sad really, and what’s worse is that this is a reoccurring thing.

1) Did you see the weather today? It’s gorgeous outside!
2) You can see my 50’’ Flat Screen TV from the backyard…convenient!
3) (and hear it too!)
4) My PVR is full of unwatched shows that NEED TO BE WATCHED!
5) I have RogersOnDemand…nuff said.
6) I blame the I n t e r n e t !
7) French ISU’s are not fun.
8) [cough cough] I am extremely lazy?
9) I really want this to be a “Top 10 Reasons” list.
10) My name is Courtney Chisholm!

Anyways guys! I am really hoping that his "blog" thing will become big! Please please please comment and tell me what you want to read about! You're wish is my command...?

I have words to write...and projects to start...and TV to watch...so UNTIL NEXT TIME!

JUSTIN BIEBER IS A 33-YEAR-OLD MAN?

Well. After a long deliberation, I have decided that this is what I will post today. Let me fill you in...I was watching "Taking the Stage" on MTV, which in case you didn't know, IS A REALLY GREAT SHOW, but anyways, MTV News came on...announcing that Justin Bieber was a 33 year old man. (What is a key fact here is that the announcement was made on April first...more commonly refered to as April Fools Day).

The MTV News post, titled Bieber Comes Clean,  went on to say that Justin suffers from a growth hormone difficency, and that he kept it a secret because he thought that it would be "a distraction to the music". However, he has finally come clean to reassure his fans that his situation is not harmful to his health, and that he will continue "being true to my fans, my music, and myself".

Now, I am not a die-hard fan like some girls out there, but I must admit, being a fellow Canadian and all, that he is adorable, and that somehow, he has climbed to the top of music charts...world wide! Keeping that in mind, dropping a "bomb" like this could ruin Justin as easily as it could bring him additional fame.

However, if the boy is not 16, and is in fact a 33-year-old man, his music, and music videos, targeted at tween and teen girls, is creepy, I mean, really creepy. I have researched the topic, and I have found no actual information to suggest that he does in fact suffer from this mysterious illness, nonetheless, I wanted to post about it, as it is becoming quite the discussion.

In my opinion, I am praying that Justin is in fact the 16 year-old boy that he claims to be, at least for the sake of all the girls suffering from Bieber Fever.

Please comment, and answer my question: DO YOU THINK THAT JUSTIN BIEBER IS A 33-YEAR-OLD-MAN, or IS THIS AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE?

loooove Courtney!

Instead of Working...

So this is my first post. I'm kind of excited I must admit. And I thought that the best way to start my "blogging" career...or hobby...would be by explaining my life a little. My name is Courtney. This is my new blog...obviously. And here is where I intend to talk about my life: my obsessions, my questions, and my random topics. And trust me, I will have a lot to talk about.

So no! This isn't a blog about a certain thing...like a "How to.." or a "Justin Bieber Fansite"...it is far more than that! It's a blog about a whole BUNCH of things, which makes it way way way better. So hopefully you will like to read about my life, because it is pretty darn exciting...most of the time.

Anyways. I am going to start a new post...about a certain topic...which I will decide shortly...like right now...but anyways, UNTIL NEXT TIME!

looooove Courtney.
